The Foggy Post

I’ve had a couple of months to take deeper breaths, observe my surroundings, reflect, and learn new things.

It’s well-known that excessive stress, insufficient sleep, lack of exercise, and illness can reduce efficiency or creativity (at least for me 🙂 ). Our brain becomes overloaded and struggles to manage all our demands, leading to e.g. memory loss. I noticed this while browsing through old photos from around the world, unable to recall where I’d been. Additionally, I recently learned that our kids and grandkids, having grown up in cities, might face challenges walking forest paths in the future as their brains are occupied by new interests and not accustomed to uneven surfaces.

A broader issue I’ve observed is that in striving to achieve results, we often lack the time or energy (or brain power) to explore new methods or actively change our course. We tend to stick to the familiar, even if it’s not always the best way forward. In my experience, even offering pro bono business development aid hasn’t been warmly received, likely because people are busy with “all other things” (or maybe it’s something personal too 😉 ).
I wish everyone a productive December and hope we all take the time (along with sleep and exercise) to recover, reflect, and return with open minds and fresh thoughts from our rejuvenated brains.

P.S. I wrote a song, “Sumussa” (meaning foggy), based on my story above. If you’re interested in hearing it, please check it out below.
